Prince - "No Black Motherfuckers in the House (Live)"

Generally, I don't care much for Prince's jam session stuff but this is masterful and very funny.

A terrific goof with Prince fronting a redneck persona, "In the House" reminds me of "Bob George".

The ending is insane: after chanting "black motherfuckers" for three minutes, he finishes with the band shouting "stop racism now"? Gwuh?

Prince's official home on the internet is also the place to DL his new CD, Musicology.

An artist with as complex and as booted a catalog as Prince has is a natural for otaku culture, as witnessed by this Japanese Prince site.

Note the Minneapolis/Tokyo comparative clocks.

Prince - "There's Others Here With Us"

From Prince's unreleased "Dream Factory" album; old enough that this was recorded with the Revolution.

A creepy synthesizer heavy rarity with one foot in Ghostbusters and the other in Thriller.

Sorry about the sound quality. Lord knows I could use a better copy, hint hint.

Prince - "Violet the Organ Grinder"

One of something like thirteen or fourteen Prince released "Gett Off" remixes; son put out TWO maxi-cd's when the single dropped.

Less an improvement on the original than an entirely different song, "Violet" is a commitment in a weirder, oilier direction that (typically for Prince) keeps on going come hell or high water.

Priceless lyrical silliness throughout:
"I can deal with a sucker if he's in your mouth, but I can't deal with insincere"?

Prince - "She Spoke 2 Me"

Prince broke his old name out of storage at the special request of Spike Lee for the "Girl 6" soundtrack, but even his funky aura couldn't save that turkey.

Insult to indignity, the soundtrack was also a bomb. Selling (according to Hammer's Prince Page) less than 100,000 copies to "Purple Rain's" thirteen million plus, "Girl 6" is unjustly written off as one of Prince's trash albums ("Chaos and Disorder", anyone?) but it just ain't so.

"Girl 6" has the first single disc release of a number of important B Sides ("Erotic City"-"How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore"-"Pink Cashmere"), reissues of some superduper classics ("Girls and Boys"-"Adore"-"The Cross"), a few Prince produced side project rarities and two or three EXCELLENT new tracks: "Girl 6", "Don't Talk 2 Strangers" and "She Spoke 2 Me".

Though not groundbreaking stuff and probably just for fans, "Girl 6" is like getting a Prince mix CD made by the man himself.

Just finished watching the NBA on TNT where they showed a side by side of Gollum and Sam Cassell and that shit was ON POINT.

Don't get me wrong, I love Sam and I hope the TWolves go deep this year; but that cat looks like GOLLUM, ya'll.
Hee hee.
